SELF-SERVE BREAKFASTS include a variety of warm and cold cereal, brown eggs, toast, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, tea, coffee or milk and often some baked goods. Let me know if you have any special requests :)
Guests that stay for a longer period, provide their own food but receive kitchen & laundry facilities in exchange. I provide space in the fridge and cupboard space and you can cook simple meals in the kitchen.
I have lots of tourist information, including travel guides, maps, etc.
My townhouse is located in a park-like setting in NW Richmond, on the 401 bus route, only 10 minutes from downtown Richmond and the Skytrain that takes you to downtown Vancouver or to the airport. It takes 20 - 25 minutes on the Skytrain to get to downtown Vancouver.
I am located within walking distance to the North and West Dykes (beautiful to walk along the ocean). Shopping is nearby as well with 2 large grocery stores within walking distance. Charming, historic Steveston (where the hit TV series 'Once Upon a Time' is filmed) is just down #1 Road, about 10 minutes away by bus or car.
I love hosting people from all over and really enjoy younger guests as well more mature guests. I speak French and English.
Airport pickup and/or drop-off is available for $25.
I have a loving cat named Fabio who loves to meet new guests.
NOTE: This is a non-smoking home, so no smokers please :) I'm allergic!
I believe in energy conservation and in being environmentally conscious. I recycle, compost and do what I can to conserve energy and not waste water. I would expect the same of my guests. This means turning off the lights when not in use, not leaving the tap running when brushing your teeth, not having long showers, being conscious of water use when rinsing dishes, etc.
Please clean up after yourself by leaving the common areas in the same clean condition they were in before you used them. Please put away food items, rinse and put dishes in the dishwasher and clean up kitchen after use. Guests staying for more than a week can use the kitchen for simple meals that take under 30 minutes to prepare.
Please leave your shoes by the front door. Wet umbrellas can dry outside.
Please respect others in the house in terms of noise levels. If you're using the kitchen or bathroom outside of normal hours, please be especially quiet to respect others that might be sleeping. I prefer that guests take showers and finish using the kitchen before 10 pm. Please hang up wet towels and rinse out the sink & shower after use.
Let me know if there is anything that you need (I can't guess...) Pretty easy-going!

I enjoyed my time at Karens place a lot. The room is very comfortable and bright. Breakfast is included, which makes things extremely easy.
The area is just lovely, quiet and good for a run. Steveston is not far away and highly recommended Thank you for a pleasant stay, your help and kindness!!!
Situated in a nice and quiet neighbourhood, Karen opens her lovely home to share the beauty and might that the Vancouver area has to share with all. There's breakfast in the morning if you want, it's very easy going. If you need some info, there's plenty to find in the room and Karen can also offer you the information you might need. The room's comfy. For travellers is great! It's a 45 minute journey to downtown Vancouver by public transportation and you're just a few stops away from the lovely Steveston. If I'll be going to Vancouver again in the future, I'd definitely stay at Karen's again.
