Reviews of this property
Under no circumstances would I recommend this property to anyone! #1 reason,we arrived in London after an overnight flight from the States, only to find that we unable to contact "Irene" as we were instructed! After several attempts,we made our way to the property. There was a key code on the door.No code was given to us! The gentleman who owned the business next door asked how he could help.He knew the handyman who worked in the building and called him to let us in.The room,in no way resembled the pictures on the Wimbu site.It was dirty, and musty, the shower caulking black with mold! The "bath towels" were the size of a tea towel,2 each for 10 days. And,we never saw "Irene" in the 10 Days we were there!
| 204 High Street Harlesden, NW10 4SY London Apartment "E" |
Location on a busy road junction with traffic lights, thereby extreme noise nuisance, this enhanced by a loose steel manhole cover on the road, which is like a blacksmith's hammer on its own when driving beats
DESCRIPTION (excerpts with commentary):
| The flats are fully furnished, own private bathroom (toilet and shower cabin), ..., washing machine, ... |
The shower room looks as if it had been recycled from a building demolition. Adhesive residues on the wall tiles show where there was even a coat hook or a shelf bracket.
Washer not available,
Toilet brush available, but only with half a stick,
STUDIO FLAT FACILITIES:
• | self-catering fully fitted kitchen (including Fridge / Freezer, Microwave, Cooker / Oven, Vacuum Cleaner) |
A so rusted (not: is rusted) colander has not seen the world.
Extractor hood filter available, greasy-tacky (but so what one has not to handle as a guest).
Smoke detectors available, however, in two parts and without battery.
The window curtains (not to speak of curtains) defy description.
• | double bed with bed linen & towels (one bath and one hand towels for each guest) |
Double bed only suitable for those who like that sort of thing. Hard, uncomfortable mattress, so loud creaks with every movement that the partner is reliable awakened.
Bath towels yes, towels not provided
• | furniture: ..., chairs, ..., dinning table, ... |
No chairs, just a rust bucket 2 seater upholstered sofa, dining table and not (if not a knee-high club table is to apply for it)
• | Underground (Tube): Willesden Junction Tube station 2-3 min walk |
right: 7-10 min (depending on luggage), traveling a staircase, 2 floors high
• | Local and Night Buses in seconds away |
Bus from London coming - about 240 seconds
Bus to London - about 90 seconds
Oh, the whole thing will cost € 31 p. P. i. DZ, without any service, clearly too expensive, especially since the whole house makes a worn, dilapidated impression.
But otherwise everything is perfect there.
|204 High Street Harlesden, NW10 4SY London, Appartment „E“|
DESCRIPTION (Auszüge mit Kommentaren):
|The flats are fully furnished, own private bathroom (WC and shower cabin), ..., washing machine, ...|
STUDIO FLAT FACILITIES:
• |self-catering fully fitted kitchen (including Fridge/Freezer, Microwave, Cooker/Oven, Vacuum Cleaner)|
• |double bed with bed linen & towels (one bath and one hand towels for each guest)|
• |furniture: ..., chairs, ..., dinning table, ...|
• |Underground (Tube): Willesden Junction Tube Station 2-3 min walk|
• |Local and Night Buses in seconds away|
Bus aus London kommend – ca. 240 Sekunden
Bus nach London – ca. 90 Sekunden
Ach ja, das Ganze kostet 31 € p. P. i.
Not a very good place to stay for more than a couple of days. The price is far too high for the quality you get - and the quality is, in fact, quite low.
I lived here for 7 weeks during a work-related visit to London. The apartment I got did not look like the one in the picture. It was a lot dirtier. The kitchen sink had a rotten smell to it that never went away (and wasn't fixed despite me teeling the person in charge). I ended up buying a new pot because the one that was provided was badly damaged and unusable. I also bought cleaning supplies to keep the place somewhat tidy.
Worst of all: At least one wall seems to be moldy from a water damage. It gives off a very unpleasant smell.
One the plus side: Harlesden isn't fashionable but nice. Very international. And it's easy to reach the city (via Overground).
Reviews for this host's other properties
A nice flat near shoping street . The overground is near and you can find everything around .
Location is excelent , the flat is clean and nice . I recomend this property for holiday in London !
The Appartment was as shown on the photos, nice and clean. It's easy to find and surrounded by several good shops, pubs, etc.
Check in and out were easy and without any problems.
The bathroom was pretty small, but there were many towels. The Bed is comfortable, the Sofa is ok for a few days.
Good: The location is great, minutes from two tube stations, Hyde Park, and shops and restaurants for anything you need and is quiet by London standards. The flat is equipped with washer, stove, microwave, and a good kettle and a small television. We also felt secure there and there was lots of hot water. We were met by staff -very friendly and got us some extra pillows and a quilt. What was there was a little skimpy.
Tricky: It is a basement flat and the stairs down are a bit steep. The overall appearance is a little tired but this is mostly cosmetic. It is a basement flat in an older building and it can be a little dank especially in the bathroom (probably similar with every other basement on the block). There is a window the opens to a back courtyard which clears that up fairly quick. The electric top up was tricky as we were told to take the dongle to the post office, Spar store, or news agent to add money. Well none of those worked and we were directed several blocks away to a shop we didn't find. Fortunately we didn't use much electricity so it wasn't a problem.
Do Different: Owners should take a few minutes to do a sheet explaining things for visitors such as exactly where to top up the power, light switches in the entrance hall, and basic instructions for the washer dryer. Add small night light and some clothes hooks in the hall, and bathroom and a few more hangers. Beaching the tiled bathroom and adding a can of air freshener would also go a long way.
We would probably stay again. Next time we will ask for a spare key.
The flat (nr 6) was perfect for a short break in London. We were three People and had enough space as it was bigger than we expected.Underground stations on your doorstep therefore easy to get around the City.In the flat was everything you Need so for London Prices ok.Good restaurants and Pubs also nearby. You must pay extra for the electric(why ???) but i supose thats how it is.
Would i stay here again when visiting London.......YES
The room is exactly as shown in the pictures. Not so big but perfect for three people who just want to visit London.
At our arrival, even if We have called Irene a little bit late, we have found the flat immediately (very close to the Wilsden Green's tube station) and the housekeeper who was nearby gave us the keys, few minutes later Irene sent me a message with the wifi password. Even if we didn't met her in person She was available via text message for any inconvenience (which there weren't any).
If your looking for an easy thing this is it! Very close to the city (about 20 minute from Westminster), clean, the flat has every thing you need for a short stay (except for detergent to clean the dishes, salt, oil, vinegar.. but you can easily find them at sainsbury nearby).
I truly recommend this nice flat for your journey in the beautiful London.
Our host was very nice, and explain everything we need. The studio was clean and we enjoyed our trip in London. I recommand it !
