A convenient staircase leads to a unique and bright environment, moved on many levels. On the first level there is a dining area with a fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, freezer and full set of dishes and pans) on the second level there are the sofa and television area (with satellite and Sky channels) and a study area; the third level is a set apart environment in which there are the library (with a very large selection of italian books, mainly classic and modern novels and art books), a wardrobe, a crib (maximum three years old) and a changing table for children. The bed area is situated in the loft, which has a window and is almost entirely walkable. The bedroom has a double bed. The bathroom is spacious and has a bath with shower and a bidet.
The apartment has central heating, air conditioning and, for the benefit of our guests, we offer free Wi-Fi.
The apartment is located in the middle of the historical center. The neighbourhood (Via Rivareno, Via Galliera) is plenty of antiques and sumptuous palaces. Hereafter the travel time on foot to the main points of interest:
- Piazza Maggiore and Due Torri: 5 min
- Train station: 8 min
- University: 10 min
- Parking: 1min (50 meters from the house, with the issue of access pass to the restricted traffic zone for non-residents)
- Bus stop for main bus lines (including Airport shuttle and links to the Fiera di Bologna): 5 min (Via Marconi, Via Indipendenza)
Bologna is a beautiful city, famous for its arcades, its cuisine and the ancient University. It is now a multicultural center with a modern and relaxed lifestyle. It is pleasant to walk in search of the hidden corners of Bologna, both in the day and in the evening, From the apartment you can walk to everything, to the main monuments (the Due Torri, Piazza Maggiore, the Basilica of San Petronio) as well as museums, cinemas and theaters (the “Teatro Comunale”, famous for the Opera season, is just 10 minutes’ walk). In Via Rivareno you will find every kind of shop (old grocery store, bakery, butcher, hairdresser, ...) and the adjacent via Indipendenza is one of the most interesting streets for shopping. The area is also full of typical restaurants serving the traditional “CUCINA BOLOGNESE” (some of which are historical!), pubs, pizzerias, bars and delicious ice cream shops.
I will be extremely happy to share with you all my knowledge of the city and to help you in making your stay in Bologna unforgettable!
The fine staircase of the palace is decorated with statues of Wisdom, Fortitude and Prudence by Angelo G. Piò, a famous sculptor of the XVIII century. The building originally overlooked the Reno Channel, artificially created along with others channel across the city in the XII century to connect Bologna with the river Po and to provide the factories with water and mechanical energy. Unfortunately, the channel was covered by the road at the beginning of the XX century; it is possible to organize a visit to the hidden channel system.
