The flat is 200 meters from New Cross Gate Station, which gives you access to the Overground and the mainline railway (Note: the Overground is connected to the tube/underground - it just runs over ground - all tickets are valid). There are also numerous buses, which pass the flat and go straight to central London, including several night buses, so you can always get home no matter what time of night!
You can be in Trafalgar Square (by train) in just 15 minutes. The vibrant and eclectic area of Shoreditch is also just 15 minutes on the Overground. The location is ideal for any tourist or person working in central London!
So far all the guests in the flat have been very nice, interesting and very respectful of one another. I believe that they have all enjoyed their stay. The apartment is maintained daily to a high standard.
In the local area you will find everything you need for a great stay; there are 24 hour food shops, cafes, restaurants, a big supermarket (Sainsbury’s) and bars all within walking distance to the flat. The flat is very close to Goldsmith University campus, so could be an ideal base if you are visiting the university for a conference.
The apartment is really convenient if you are visiting the Olympic games this summer. It is just 20 minutes by bus to Greenwich were a number of events are taking place, and just 20 minutes to the stadium at Stratford, via the Overground and Jubilee Line.

Reviews for this host's other properties
We've been staying in this flat for three nights with our family of 4 people. The kids had comfortable mattresses and the bed in the other room was very comfortable as well. We found everything we needed in the kitchen and had a great time! The fact that we could securely park our car although we were really central was especially positive. We loved to go into the city by bus, there were several bus stops close to the flat. Sidney was very friendly and helpful and he managed to meet us immediately when we came in! Thanks again! Altogether, we would love to come again some day, it's been a perfect stay- only too short! :)
We had a very pleasant stay at the Heston House. The station was close and there were small shops where we could buy groceries. The room we stayed in was clean and well kept, the only downside was that there was a train going by every five minutes and the tracks were only about ten meters away from our window, so there was a lot of noise at night. For light sleepers like myself this was something unpleasant and I think it should have been made clear in the accommodation description. Everything else in the house was okay, the bathroom and kitchen were both clean. I would definitely stay at the house again, but in a different room at the other side of the building.
The location is okay for London. It's just 200 m from New Cross Gate Station and you get to the Centre quite easily. If you expect to be closer to the City you will have to pay more.
We didn't meet Sidney but with the key instructions it was easy to get into the appartment. We had the Asian room with 3 people which was okay.
Not okay was the fact that there is just one single toilet and one single shower for more than 10 people. And you just need one person who doesn't clean up after using the toilet/the shower and the whole place becomes really disgusting. We had that problem and therfore wish that the facilites would be looked after/cleaned more often.
The room was not as quiet as the descritption would suggest but a look at the map and google street view showed us before that the house is located at a big road so we didn't expect it too quiet.
Would we recommend this appartment? In general yes for all those who need a place to sleep in London and know about the fact that you share a single toilet and single shower with 12 other people and don't care (you might be lucky and have other travellers who are clean, you might be less lucky - as we were - and live there with travellers who are not quite as clean as you wish).
We (family with 2 girls) can recommend this apartment, which is located in a quiet neighborhood near the river Thames. There is a bus stop near by as well as a grocery. Sidney is a very friendly host, who waited patiently until 3 a.m. (our flight was delayed almost 3 hours) to give us the keys and provide useful Information on how to get around etc. We enjoyed our stay very much and would certainly come again!
nice location, good price-performance ratio, we will come back again
I definitely recommend this place! Is clean with very basics but there's everything you need. Clean and comfortable just a bit small for 3 persons the room where we stayed with my friends. The only thing is the noise of the overground train which goes under your window and its very noisy. Is quite central you can get in to the main attractions in a few minutes with overground trains or buses.
We have not met Sidney in person but we've got a very good instructions from her/him.
Thanks Sidney very much!
we had a nice holiday! the flat is very beautiful and clean.
it it not far from tower brige, about 20 minutes
Very clean!! Great location! Could not have asked for a better room for the price! :)
we (4 girls!) stayed for one week at Helena Square 25. The accomodation is located in a very good area of London very close to the river Thames and the Thames Path to London City. It was clean, we had a kitchen with all necessary things, fresh towels and bed linen, hairdryer...
At the moment there is a warm water-problem, but Sydney explained us, how to use the warm water, so that everything was at least fine. He also helped us with the minicab and gave us all the information we needed. Thank you very much, I do recommend this accomodation and Sydney as well as a good host. I'm sure that I'll return to this place...
Best Wishes, Fatma
In the beginning we were a bit disappointed, as nobody was there nor reachable on the phone as we arrived and it took some time to get into the appartment (we would suggest to make a fixed arrangement). Further we would have preferred to know that the way from the overground station to the appartment is quite long with heavy suitcases.
But then everything was all right: Sidney is a kind guy and gave us good instruction for the appartment. All equipment was at present and working, beds were good and we appreciated very much the wooden floor in the rooms. With 5 people it was no problem to get along, having two bedrooms and a sofa in the living room. Maybe one or two reading lights for the evening would be helpful and the fixing of the shower needs a repair.
From New Kent Road there are a lot of busses to the center of London, you'll get everywhere easily and can get into contact with different kind of people.
We can remmoned Sidneys appartment especially to other families who are not keen on having lots of night life nearby. If you are looking for a base to visit London for reasonable value-for-money it is definetely all right.
