Welcome to New Jersey/New York!
This is a 1 bedroom garden apartment located on the ground floor of my home - just 15 minutes from NYC. It is ideal for people looking to visit the city for a couple of days as well as looking to stay for a couple of months. Please message me if you are interested in staying for an extended period of time and I will be happy to discuss long-term pricing with you then.
The apartment has been completely renovated and newly furnished. The walls have been newly painted and a sprinkler system installed.
I live upstairs, so you can pop in anytime to ask questions or to just hang out!
Please make sure that you check all my other listing – *the Red&GreenRoom & *the entire Apartment - under my profile, and if you don't find the dates you're looking for, shoot me an inquiry anyways and I'll do what I can to help you, including recommending other great local hosts.
Great energy and very peaceful! Feel free to message me with any questions!
There is a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster oven and more ... We provide coffee, tea and hot chocolate. We encourage you to make yourself at home. Depending on the length of your stay, you can stack up on food and drink, there is plenty of storage space! We suggest restaurants (menus available including of those that deliver!)
In addition to a very comfortable queen-sized bed there is a couch in the living room, that can sleep an extra person.
Located in Union City, NJ, a very short direct bus ride to the Times Square area.Three blocks from gorgeous Manhattan views (along the Hudson River) Jitney Buses to Manhattan/Times Square run every minute during day, and every 4 minutes at night. Buses run 24/7. They leave from the Post Office on 30th Street - a 10-15 minute walk from the house.
It is easier and faster to commute into the City from Union City than commuting from Brooklyn or Queens. If you were to stay in the Bronx it would take you 40 min to get to Times Square. If you were to stay in Brooklyn it would take you the same amount of time as subways in Brooklyn are not direct. If you were to stay in Manhattan you would not find a place as big as this one for this price. Great grocery and wine/liquor stores in the neighborhood; a Bodega around the corner (open until 10 pm), and the supermarket is just a few blocks away.Very safe neighborhood, lots of great restaurants and bakeries but also very quiet at night.
I was born in Vienna, Austria and have been living in the States for some 4 decades. I lived in Greenwich Village and the East Village (NYC) for 25 years - I consider myself a true New Yorker still, although I now live in New Jersey! I speak German and English and the person on the top floor speaks Dutch and Afrikans (she is from South Africa)!
INTERACTION WITH GUEST
I live on the first floor in the building (it is a 2-family home), so you can pop in anytime to ask questions or just hang out! I like to keep in contact with guests via WhatsApp or Viber (Text or Email or Cell), so I can assist if needed.
Bookings with us are done with the "strict" cancellation policy and all cancellations should be done through Wimdu. This being said, if we manage to re-rent the place the nights you have canceled we can give a bigger refund to you than what the strict cancellation policy dictates. DEPOSIT IS FOR KEYS + VISITOR PASS or any damages that may have occurred. IT WILL BE REFUNDED TO YOU BY WIMDU AFTER YOU HAVE CHECKED OUT.
To confirm that you have read the entire description, please include the secret word "GreenwichVillage" in your inquiry to me.

Reviews of this property
Hannelore is a very nice friendly lady who was very helpfull during our stay. The appartement is big enough for two and clean and close to Manhattan by bus.
I would definitly recommend it for people who visit New York for a short time.
Reviews for this host's other properties
We ( 3 persons ) stayed 5 nights in Union City at Hannelores appartment. Everything was exactly as pictured. It was a quiet and clean place in a safe region with most south american habitants. We loved this atmosphäre very much, especially the coffee at the columbian bakery just around the corner. Hannelore made us a very warm welcome and answered to all our questions an gave us a lot of usefull informations. The appartement is very close located to the N.Y. Bus Port Autorithy which is near Time Square. In about 15 min. drive you are in Midtown Manhattan. ( bus fare $ 3.50 per person ) Hannelore is a very nice host. We liked her donuts and appreciated that she and her lovely dog Logan came to say goodbye to wish us a safe trip home. We definitely recommend this place and if we come back to Big Apple we would stay with Hannelore again. Thanks very much for everything, it was great!
Hannelore is a great host. She took care of us in our stay in New York. She advised us about all our required information.
The location is really good. It takes 5 min walking to the bus stop and then the way to New York ( Times Square) takes around15 min. The house is really cozy.
I really advise this accommodation.
Hannelore is a fantastic host. She is very kind and caring.
The communication before, during, and after our stay was wonderful. Hannelore was quick to respond to our questions and messages via WhatsApp and Email.
Hannelore was very sweet and helpful and organized our drop off at JFK, thanks again!
The apartment was very nice, cozy and clean. The green room was big enough for the two of us, especially since the apartment had a spacious living room, bathroom and kitchen.
The bus connection to NYC was frequent, fast and easy.
We had a wonderful time and would absolutely stay there again. We will definitely recommend Hannelore and the apartment to friends/family.
Thank you so much for an amazing stay and perfect hospitality!
Thank you so much for the great time with you.
The apartment was nice and neat, and the size of the green room was okay for two people walking through NJ/NYC most of the time and having the spacious common area for leisure time and eating.
The communication before, during, and even after our stay was amazing: Hannelore sent us helpful information in advance and used to answer us very quickly on WhatsApp. On our first day, her son welcomed us although it was his birthday (!) because Hannelore could not come herself due to an accident. They really cared about us without being obtrusive at all. That's what one wishes :)
Keep in mind that the apartment is in NJ and that you will have to buy bus tickets to NYC (~ $ 30,00/week) in addition to the metro ticket.
